The Braves have a simply terrible team anthem this season

Apr 3, 2014, 12:55 PM EDT

I don’t know if it’s official. I sort of doubt it, even if there are cameos from some Fox Sports South people in the video. But whatever it’s status, know that “Chop Arm Strong” is an atrocity on multiple levels. And that’s before you even get to the fact that it has a Jeff Foxworthy gangsta-walk in the middle of it for no apparent reason. And he’s wearing the ugly red alternate jersey. It’s terribad, actually. So horrifying that I can’t help but play it over and over:

Jason Isbell, the current Drive By Truckers, Ludacris and any number of artists that I don’t want to throttle are Braves fans. Why do we get someone who Fred Durst looks at and goes “man, you’re awful” to sing about the Braves?

Besides, there is already an official team video for the Braves this year and nothing on Earth can displace it:

So wrong on so many levels

    Better than Bieber

Bieber? I thought he was out on the moon singing for the aliens out there.

Better than most of my beloved Steeler’s polka music anthems from the past 45 years. At least it almost sounds like rock.

I know it’s cool to rag on fan songs and all… but i gotta say, Chop Arm Strong isn’t all that bad. Well produced, solid music, catchy… come on now…

Hell of a lot better than “At Fenway”

    Chop till’ you drop!

Don’t sweat it CC. It’ll die down soon enough. In the meantime, you could pray about it.
I mean…I am sure it makes one feel a little guilty. But is it on a Chief Wahoo level?
Crap…sorry about the praying part. I just remembered.
Hug a tree, or the bumper on your vehcile. Perhaps plant a flower. Whatever you’re into. Own it.

It’ll be interesting to see how this plays in Cobb County.

The last 30 seconds sounded an awful lot like “Killing in the Name”.

Videos like this are what makes the internet a worthy endeavor.

Yep, about the 2:20 mark on.

At least dude was playing a Tele in the video.

I thought we were done with the whole angry-rap-whiteboy-numetal thing? Or is it old enough now to be “vintage”, and we should all run out and buy Chocolate Starfish on vinyl?

So since this is a Braves promo, how did they get Bryce Harper to play the drums?

If your silly songs like this bother you then maybe you’re too old to watch baseball.

    OMG- that is Nickelback bad…
