Ryan Braun has numbness in his thumb: surgery a possibility

Apr 4, 2014, 11:33 AM EDT

The one thing Ryan Braun needed to do this year in order to quiet the naysayers was to put up a typical Ryan Braun season. Well, it wouldn’t quiet all of the naysayers, because even if he passes every drug test for the rest of his life people will say that he’s using some new, undetectable PED because that’s how a lot of people like to think.  We can agree, however, that if he puts up a sucky season that people will say “see, he was a PED creation!”

And they’ll say that even if he’s injured. Which, he seems to be. And it could be serious. His thumb is numb and it could result in surgery:

Braun is in the lineup DHing today in Boston. But if the problem doesn’t go away soon, he could miss a lot of time.

Not too brawny without your recovery-enhancing drugs, eh Braun? Going to throw a tantrum and try to wreck someone else’s career now?

      • nightman13 - Apr 4, 2014 at 1:35 PM

Whose career did he wreck? Becuase I know you don’t mean the collector’s. The collector DID break the chain of custody and that is why Braun got off and why the guy lost his job. Also, collecting piss wasn’t that guy’s whole career, he did that as a second job.

      • drewsylvania - Apr 4, 2014 at 2:03 PM

He didn’t wreck the collector’s career. He tried to, though. He was willing to do so in order to protect his lies. It was only when he was revealed as a liar that he became apologetic.

Not Karma, it was over used injecting his arse with PEDs. You have heard of tennis elbow, this baseball thumb.

      • sportsfan18 - Apr 4, 2014 at 6:47 PM

        “Baseball thumb”

        Love it!

Roger Clemens thumb is the size of a normal mans forearm… because not only did he inject his arse all those yrs, he also injected his wife’s arse too.

You should rename that blog to: “Lazy blogger’s site who takes credit for other people’s work.” “Dot Com.”

You know the re-blog post thing is automatic, right? Nothing wrong with re-bloggng, and if it gives credit to the original blogger, no big whoop.

Haha, I hope they don’t have to ship anything for his treatment.

  4. deathmonkey41 - Apr 4, 2014 at 12:04 PM

I wouldn’t want to be the guy who has to draw his blood and take it to the lab….

  5. scoutsaysweitersisabust - Apr 4, 2014 at 12:08 PM

This could be a real blow to his sex life…

  6. Old Gator - Apr 4, 2014 at 12:21 PM

Short version: his thumb is numb from sitting around with his thumbs up his arse for a third of a season.

    Beat Boston. Just do it.

    • proudlycanadian - Apr 4, 2014 at 5:50 PM

Braun was 0 for 5 today; however, the Brewers beat the Red Sox by 6 to 2. All that bling might have distracted the Red Sox.

You know how he could avoid being labeled a cheater? Don’t cheat!

  9. chc4 - Apr 4, 2014 at 12:56 PM

So wait, are you actually asserting Braun is a victim? Smh

  10. pillowporkers - Apr 4, 2014 at 1:10 PM

This is an embarrassing article. The dude got up on camera, slandered the man who administered the drug test, and basically preached to everyone how he is the victim, while knowing he was cheating! That’s cold blooded. I have no sympathy for this man. Clearly you are ignorant enough to ignore the fact that people are willing to risk their reputation and a 50 game suspension without pay to take them. You’re right, they must not help. Go look at the amount of individuals who hit 50 HR in a given season year by year since 1995. It’s plain as day.

Reading comprehension much??? Oh wait, you didn’t even read the article did you???

      • sabatimus - Apr 4, 2014 at 2:23 PM

Well, Craig IS a PED apologist…

  11. unlost1 - Apr 4, 2014 at 1:39 PM

oh come on, he should just argue it’s a false positive

  12. mikhelb - Apr 4, 2014 at 3:04 PM

“even if he passes every drug test for the rest of his life people will say that he’s using some new, undetectable PED”.

Just like what happenee in the Biogenesis scandal, with all the testing in place and nobody tested positive, in ARod’s alleged years of use he only tested positive back in 2004 when also Manny Ramírez and David Ortíz tested positive; BUT with WADA now in the mix to test some players it will be more efficient, they have better tests and can detect lower concentrations that the USADA says are permissible, but since MLB is no part of USADA nor WADA they were free to use any concentration as a positive, WADAs incursion in MLB should be a deterrent.

  13. byjiminy - Apr 5, 2014 at 12:56 AM

Wait, we think Braun is a PED-using cheater because we “like to think” that? What do we like about it, exactly?

  14. bbk1000 - Apr 6, 2014 at 6:51 AM

Is that the hand he uses while taking his drug tests?

The administrator better have a few handi wipes around….
