UPDATE: Roger Mooney of the Tampa Tribune reports that Moore left his start with left elbow soreness. He’s scheduled to undergo an MRI tomorrow.

9:59 p.m. ET: According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, Rays left-hander Matt Moore was forced to leave his start against the Royals this evening with an apparent injury.

No word yet on the exact nature of the injury, but Topkin writes that Moore showed a “noticeable grimace” after his final pitch. He allowed one run over 4 1/3 innings before exiting and was replaced by Cesar Ramos.

We’ll pass along an update when we get it.

Ouch! Who is next in line to be a starting pitcher for the Rays?

      Bedard maybe.

Even though Bedard is from the same Province as I, he does not come highly recommended.

Obviously it’s a downgrade from Moore, but that’s why they signed Bedard and parked him in Durham–in case a starter got hurt. He pitched okay this spring. Interestingly his first AAA start this year was yesterday. He went 4.0 innings, gave up one run, and showed good control–according to the report I read.

Meanwhile, we Rays fans anxiously await Moore’s MRI report hoping for him the news isn’t too bad.

    When is Hellickson coming back?

I believe that he is out until mid season.

Elbow soreness? Saw that replay, that was pain. If his elbow is “sore”, then I guess that is also an accurate description of Infante’s jaw.
