Dodgers activate Josh Beckett for Wednesday start

Apr 9, 2014, 7:03 PM EDT

From the Dodgers’ official Twitter account …

Beckett was placed on the 15-day disabled list at the end of spring training with a thumb injury and then tweaked his right ankle during an April 4 rehab start at High-A Rancho Cucamonga. But he’s healthy now and is expected to serve as the Dodgers’ fifth starter going forward. Beckett hasn’t pitched in a major league game since last May. That will change when he takes the mound Wednesday night against the Tigers.

Four innings, five hits, five runs…. Beckett is done. He’ll be a drag on the Dodgers rotation for as long as they are dumb enough to give him the ball.

They’re going to regret not making a more serious effort in the Tanaka sweepstakes as the season drags on and the Dodgers try to fill that # 5 spot ,yet again for the 2nd season in a row ! They should have put more money in the tanaka offer instead of spending it on the floundering L.A. Sparks !
