VIDEO: Andrelton Simmons shows off his arm strength

Apr 9, 2014, 9:22 PM EDT

This isn’t the prettiest play you’ll ever see from Andrelton Simmons, but it sure was impressive …

ESPN’s Keith Law says Simmons used to hit 98 mph as a young pitcher. Easy to believe after that.

That’s just dirty. On so many levels.

You’ve got to be kidding me.

That is a Shawon Dunston-level cannon right there…wow.

Nice play by Freeman too to nab that throw

He caught a ball that was thrown perfectly. Any high school 1st baseman should be able to make that catch.

The stretch Percy. The stretch. Any high school 1st baseman is not going to stretch like that. Unless he is a high school 1st baseman on his way to pro ball.
That aside…this is the best play I have seen in a long, long time. Impressive.

Stretching at first base is very over-rated. Most pro first basemen aren’t that flexible… I wouldn’t assume a first basemen is going to the pros just because he’s flexible.

Great arm by Simmons. That’s silly that he’s able to get the ball across the diamond with that much steam from his ass.
