Yasiel Puig injured while trying to catch walkoff double

May 4, 2014, 5:01 PM EDT

Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register was on the scene in Miami …

The Dodgers will run him through a range of tests before announcing an official diagnosis. Puig was 1-for-4 with a walk and a run scored in the 5-4 loss and he’s batting .309/.397/.500 on the season.

UPDATE, 5:05 p.m. ET: And now comes good news from Plunkett …

Why are you clicking on him and commenting you fkn idiot.

@ Prez – I generally agree with your sentiment & feel that a majority of the posters are hypersensitive and too liberal for my liking.

People downvoted your post about baseball self-policing Puig, but the reality is that will happen. Whether or not a fan agrees with how the game is played, the players on the field determine that, and they generally don’t like showboating.

…Getting tired of people having problems with guys playing all out every day and having some fun while doing it.

      • President Charles Logan - May 4, 2014 at 7:10 PM

he embarrasses the game, the team and himself , someone’s going to take him out on the field one of these days. learn to respect the game. there’s a laundry list of punks that fall into this category other then this guy

President Charles Logan . aka, Dick.

      • jwbiii - May 4, 2014 at 9:29 PM

Charles, Have noticed how often these “don’t respect the game punks” get injured on hustle plays?

      • jm91rs - May 5, 2014 at 9:58 AM

How is playing with max effort and playing at an elite level embarrassing the game? How how exactly do you suppose someone is going to “take him out”?

    • thetoolsofignorance - May 4, 2014 at 7:33 PM

No makes you read anything here. Get lost. We won’t miss you

This kid needs to learn how to respect the game. Crashing into the wall while trying to make game saving catch? That’s a Clown play, Bro.

  3. thetoolsofignorance - May 4, 2014 at 6:10 PM

He hit pretty hard. I hurt watching it. It better not be anything major.

    • Old Gator - May 4, 2014 at 7:05 PM

I doubt if it will be. Concussion tests were negative and the wall was padded or nylon wire mesh. He just hit it going full tilt boogie.

  4. gothapotamus90210 - May 4, 2014 at 7:50 PM

    Bruised ego.

  5. gattaga72 - May 4, 2014 at 10:14 PM

Logan you are a SLAP.. U probably never played ball…you are just some lazy-boy jockey is all…..

  6. thisdamnbox - May 5, 2014 at 3:05 AM

Look for him to have all the usual injury problems as Kemp and Harper the next year or two. Crashing into the wall is like getting hit by a car. Dude’s an exciting player. Hate the Dodgers (Giants fan) but hope he recovers soon.

  7. inthearex - May 5, 2014 at 6:35 AM

Dude went all out to catch a walk off hit. What the hell is wrong with that???
