Looks like Billy Hamilton is heading to the DL

Reds center fielder Billy Hamilton has missed four straight starts due to a sprain of the third and fourth knuckles on his left hand suffered during a diving catch last Thursday. The hope was that a few days rest would have him back in shape, but he tried to take batting practice today and couldn’t grip the bat. Looks like the disabled list is in Hamilton’s future.

Hamilton started the season slowly, but had been steadily improving over the past few weeks.

I can’t see how they’re going to tread water with so many on the DL.

Physically the pirates are not in much better shape. Hamilton Has stolen 11 bases but been caught 5 times. That’s not eye popping.

“Reds GM Walt Jocketty said Tuesday that he does not expect to put Hamilton (hand) on the DL, John Fay of the Cincinnati Enquirer reports.”

Not that it couldn’t still happen, but that’s slightly encouraging.

I hope Tony LaRussa asks for the diving catch to get banned, it is responsible of too many lesions every year, it has to be banned for the greater good of the game.

Next: ban running, too many players injure their hamstrings by running, it is perjudicial to the body, MLB should implement the use of segways.

Ban idiotic comments that make ridiculously false comparisons in order to support an agenda.
