Padres activate Chase Headley from the disabled list

The Padres have activated third baseman Chase Headley from the disabled list and optioned pitcher Kevin Quackenbush to Triple-A El Paso, per the team’s official Twitter.

Headley went on the DL on April 25 and had been slashing a meager .186/.250/.314 leading up to the injury. Headley, who turned 30 years old on Friday, is earning $10.525 million this season and is eligible for free agency following the conclusion of the 2014 season.
