Mark Trumbo is four weeks into what was expected to be a six-week recovery from a stress fracture in his left foot and the Diamondbacks left fielder told Zach Buchanan of the Arizona Republic that it’s shown “significant healing” and “I’m extremely pleased with it.”

Buchanan reports that the Diamondbacks still plan to take things cautiously with Trumbo’s recovery and probably won’t let him resume baseball activities for another week. Presumably a minor-league rehab stint will follow, so he’s likely still at least 2-3 weeks away from coming off the disabled list.

Trumbo, who was acquired from the Angels this offseason, got off to a slow start before the injury by hitting .210 with 22 strikeouts in 21 games and making some ugly plays defensively in the outfield. He did, however, smack seven homers and post a .771 OPS that’s actually above his career mark of .768.

Is he “extremely pleased” with the D-Back’s 16 wins?
