Dodgers activate Hyun-Jin Ryu for Wednesday start

May 21, 2014, 7:15 PM EDT

As confirmed by the Dodgers’ official Twitter account …

Ryu will return to Los Angeles’ starting rotation on Wednesday night against the Mets after sitting out for a little over three weeks with inflammation in his throwing shoulder. The Korean southpaw did not make a minor league rehab start, but he threw 75 pitches last Friday in an extended spring training game and experienced no shoulder discomfort. So he should be good for about 90 pitches in his return Wednesday. Ryu, 27, owns a remarkable 3.00 ERA, 1.208 WHIP, and 185/60 K/BB ratio through his first 231 major league innings.
