Mike Trout out of Angels’ lineup for first time this season

May 21, 2014, 8:53 PM EST

Alden Gonzalez, the Angels beat reporter for MLB.com, has the news

Trout made an early exit on Tuesday night after first experiencing that hamstring tightness. He felt fine on Wednesday, but Angels manager Mike Scioscia decided to use the opportunity to get his star center fielder some extended rest. Anaheim does not have a game Thursday, so Trout will get two full days off.

The 22-year-old is batting .270/.361/.511 with eight homers and five steals in 45 games this season.

Not playing baseball? That must mean he’s either:
    A) Applying to run for president
    B) In a third world country building a brand new school (probably with his bare hands)
    C) Meeting with global leaders on the terms of climate change, diplomatic strategy, and economic improvement

    Take your pick.
