Justin Maxwell accepts assignment to Triple-A Omaha

A week ago, the Royals designated outfielder Justin Maxwell for assignment. Andy McCullough of the Kansas City Star reports that Maxwell has cleared outright waivers and accepted his assignment to Triple-A Omaha.

It’s been a tough year for Maxwell. He impressed after joining the team following a trade with the Astros at the trade deadline last season, but has mustered a .138/.219/.172 slash line in 32 plate appearances this season.

    Maxwell far better than his slash line. He’ll get it together in Omaho and come back strong – you’ll see
