Hanley Ramirez returns to Dodgers’ lineup after missing four straight games with sore calf

May 27, 2014, 6:25 PM EST

When the Dodgers’ initial lineup was released for Tuesday night’s game against the visiting Reds, it had Erisbel Arruebarrena at shortstop instead of Hanley Ramirez. But this just happened:

Ramirez wound up missing four games with what was being referred to as left calf soreness — it also got labeled an Achilles issue at one point. Also of note: Matt Kemp is sitting Tuesday for a fifth consecutive game and will not be a late addition. He’s not necessarily injured but has looked sluggish on offense and defense in his return from October ankle surgery. Andre Ethier is the Dodgers’ starting center fielder.

Didn’t the Dodgers win something like 42 out of 50 games last year when Kemp was OUT of the line up? Sounds like a shrewd move to me.

Can Kemp play a little 3B? I mean, if the alternative is Justin Turner…

I wouldn’t be surprised if Kemp demands a trade when it gets closer to the trade deadline.
