Jose Abreu homers again

Jun 4, 2014, 9:16 AM EDT

Jose Abreu AP

Two games off the disabled list, two home runs for Jose Abreu. All the dude does it hit bombs.

Abreu went yard for the second straight game against the Dodgers last night, finishing 2 for 4 with three RBI. Abreu has 17 homers in 46 games, which ties Wally Berger’s rookie mark. He’s currently on pace for 46 homers and 127 RBI. Someone needs to figure out how to get him to hit the ball on the ground because, at the moment, he hits homers on 40.5% of his fly balls. Which is pretty darn high.

Not bad for a dude who just spent several weeks on the DL with ankle tendinitis.

I knew this guy was gonna be a stud like his fellow Cuban new comer. Wanted the Tigers to sign him so bad but Dumbo didn’t come thru for once. Davis has played nicely in left so far but damn…

There are some awesome, exciting young players breaking out this year. Always great to see.

Jose Abreu to Billy Hamilton: “It’s fun being strong.”

This guy has brought a level of excitement that’s been missing from the Sox for a while.

If they could’ve kept this team healthy, they could’ve given the Tigers a run for their money.

I realize there are still a ton of games left, but it will be difficult to catch them, especially with so many guys going down.

The one he hit off Kershaw the other night sounded like it came off a cracked bat.

He hits dongs to keep from running and reaggravating his ankle. Pretty simple.

Makes sense. I suppose Curtis Granderson is preserving his wrists by rarely making contact.
