Wanna buy a used Hank the Dog water bowl?

Jun 16, 2014, 4:00 PM EST

Hank the Dog AP

Back in February, Hank the Dog was just some stray in a blighted part of Phoenix. Now he’s such a big shot people are willing pay hundreds of dollars for his dirty dishes. From the MLB Auctions site:

You are bidding on Hank the Ballpark Pup’s Milwaukee Brewers dog bowl. Hank made a special appearance at the Brewers versus Pirates game on May 14, 2014 and kindly had his dog bowl authenticated for us, once he was done using it of course. This dog bowl is authenticated as “Hank Used” with MLB hologram number HZ180144 and 20% of the proceeds will be donated to the Wisconsin Humane Society.

And you thought Tanaka’s folding chair was an esoteric pice of memorabilia.

We do as many as 40 posts a day here, every day. We’ve never once “just given [person] a day.” That’s not what we do.

And if you had done 40 posts on Gwynn, you would have had the inevitable “I know it’s sad, but isn’t there anything else to talk about post?” post right near the top. There’s always one.

After the passing of a fine ballplayer and man, sadly from a cause even he knew he could have prevented, Hank strikes just the right balance. I can’t imagine a guy with that ever present smile would want the rest of us to spend the day in somber gloom at the news of his death.

      Yea, because 6 posts isn’t enough….

Sad as Tony’s passing may be, there is an entire world rotating out there, and there are more things going on in the world than the passing of one great ballplayer.
