Gregory Polanco is already breaking Pirates records

Jun 18, 2014, 11:21 PM EDT

Watch as Gregory Polanco smacks a fifth-inning RBI single Wednesday night against the Reds, becoming the first rookie in the long history of the Pirates to hit safely in each of his first eight games …

As noted in that highlight, the previous record of seven straight was held by Roberto Clemente.

Polanco, 22, is batting .385/.429/.487 with six RBI through his first eight games in the major leagues.

Oh yeah, totally wasn’t ready for the bigs. Glad the Pirates waited on him for completely player development reasons. /sarcasm

be lucky this kid doesn’t play for the Cubs…

he wouldn’t get called up to the bigs for another year or more…

hopefully you’ve about the kid in double A crushing the ball, who should be on the Cubs as they are in LAST place again…

they just moved him up to AAA…

Cubs need to keep ’em down on the farm to get that Manny “what to do, and what not to do” treatment.

      You’re an ass!

Its a response to a specific Pirates fan who defends their player development methods by bashing others.

If I was the Pirates I’ll trade him to the Phillies. He’s such a terrible hitter, why would you want a hitter like Polanco on your team? It just doesn’t make any sense. /no sarcasm

Don’t worry, you get Polanco in about 15 years. Then Amaro will sign him for another five years..

all three outfielders are under team control thru 2022. Nobody is going to Philly or any other team any time soon.

Cutch is only signed through 2018.

    • paperlions - Jun 19, 2014 at 8:59 AM
