Bud Norris has a groin strain

Jun 26, 2014, 2:40 PM EDT

Bud Norris Bud Norris

Orioles starter Bud Norris left the game on Saturday with some right groin tightness. It was a bit more serious than that, it seems. An MRI taken today reveals that Norris has a groin strain and now he’s off to the 15-day DL.

Norris will not likely be gone for long, but his loss will be felt. He has been steady for Baltimore this year, posting a 3.62 ERA and a 60/28 K/BB ratio in 87 innings this season.

man… just when he started to really get into a groove. He’s been the O’s best and most consistent starter this year.

Surprising it’s not an injured jaw considering how much he’s been running his mouth about the Astros rebuilding efforts.

Looks like it delays the problem of having 6 starters for another few weeks.

It certainly opens a well deserved rotation spot for Gausman.

Yeah, sure. He’s fighting cancer (and winning!), and that blood on the sock was real. Pathetic. Sorry, I’m not buying.
