VIDEO: Rockies turn a gorgeous double play

Jul 2, 2014, 7:42 PM EDT

D.J. LeMahieu and Troy Tulowitzki teamed up for one of the most aesthetically-pleasing double plays you’ll ever see in the first inning Wednesday evening at Nationals Park …

When everybody is healthy, the Rockies rank among the best defensive infields in the major leagues.

And it just so happens that Nolan Arenado (finger) is due back from the disabled list on Thursday.

    Outstanding!

That Tulowitzki kid has a chance of being a pretty good ballplayer.

Now, now let’s not get all fanboy. Tulo’s only been doing stuff like that for 8-9 years, wait ’til he gets some time in. He does have a chance, though, I agree.

I am gong far back in time to describe that “pretty play” as a “Helen” as in Helen of Troy.

I would have watched the video, but I didn’t want to endure that paint commercial for the 5th time in a row.

Luckily I saw it in real time. Even Nats fans applauded. You have to appreciate a play like that.

That guy is clearly not a real painter. A real painter would never leave a brush in the can.
