Yasiel Puig was pulled from Saturday’s 4-2 loss in St. Louis after taking a Joe Kelly curve off his left hand and will sit out of Sunday night’s series finale.

X-rays were taken on Saturday evening and the results were negative, but Puig has some soreness and a bruise. Andre Ethier is starting in right field, Matt Kemp is in left field, and Scott Van Slyke will get his 15th career start in center field on Sunday.

Puig should return to action on Monday night for the Dodgers’ series-opener at the Pirates’ PNC Park.

He’s batting .308/.396/.519 with 12 home runs, 27 doubles, and 52 RBI in 92 games this season for Los Angeles.

Prepare for 125 shots of Puig sitting in the dugout.

    I used to love ESPN.

The SOB Kelley throws at our hitters and cowardly Mattingly does absolutely nothing. Kelley personally bears responsibility for H. Ramirez injury in last years NLCS, and Mattingly did nothing then. Now Puig could have broken his hand after being deliberately thrown at by Kelley. What happened to retaliation? The hell with the fine, throw at this SOB , hit him in the rib cage and see how he feels afterwards. Cmon MAttingly get int the game of getting back at a guy who is getting away with hurting your players.

I can’t tell if you’re being sarcastic or if you were tutored by Dexter Manley. The article clearly states that Puig was hit with a CURVE BALL.

Not only that, he was hit on the hand during a check swing.
