Yankees first baseman will be out of the lineup for at least the next 3-4 days with a strained lat muscle, according to Mark Feinsand of the New York Daily News.

For now the Yankees are terming it a “mild” strain and don’t think Teixeira will require a disabled list stint.

Teixeira has managed to stay in the Yankees’ lineup for 73 games so far and actually has the highest OPS on the team at .773, but he’s been very banged up with an assortment of injuries and has hit just .207 with a .676 OPS in his last 45 games dating back to mid-May.

the key phrase is “at least”. It might be longer than 4 days.

Teixeira can maybe go rap with Jeter’s brother now…Jeter’s bro did this freestyle rap and it’s actually pretty darn good…as a tribute to Jeter

saying he has the highest OPS on the team when it’s only .773 is like saying he’s the tallest midget.

Jinx! (below) … Guess I owe you a Coke Zero.

This basically sums up the Yankee season, minus Girardi’s managerial wizardry:

… actually has the highest OPS on the team at .773.

    ugh.

    What else is new?

There has to be some way to squeeze an genuine 1B-backup onto this roster. Tex needs a day too often, and the rest of the infield is too shaky defensively, to have Kelly Johnson faking his way around 1B.

Please…not Johnson at first ! Cervelli will do at least as well.

Gee, who could have ever seen this coming?

He and Brian Roberts should both turn in their gloves and retire. It’s over.
