Justin Morneau was finally healthy and productive again after three injury wrecked years in Minnesota, to the point that he nearly made the All-Star team as a “Final Vote” candidate and was chosen for the Home Run Derby. But now he’s hurt again.

Colorado has placed the first baseman on the disabled list with a strained neck, which has been an issue since keeping him out of the lineup Friday.

Morneau hit .312 with 13 homers and an .846 OPS in 89 games before the injury and last time he played that many games with an OPS that high was way back in 2009.
