According to MLB Trade Rumors, the Angels have signed left-hander Randy Wolf to a minor league contract.

This is Wolf’s fifth organization since spring training. The 37-year-old opted out of his minor league contract with the Orioles earlier this month after one start and five relief appearances in Triple-A. He made four starts and two relief appearances with the Marlins earlier this season. It was his first stint in the majors since 2012.

The Angels are rumored to be in the market for a starter, but Wolf is strictly organizational depth at this point of his career.

Who is afraid of a 37 year old Wolf?

Well that ends the chance of Wang and Wolf being teammates – for now.

Jeez this guy’s still at it? And Capuano went to the Yankees I believe?

Tells you all you need to know about the state of pitching when teams are still taking flyers on these guys … (and makes the notion of a 6 man rotation that was tossed around even more comical).

If they are left handed and have a pulse, teams are interested.

Randy Wolf is a good guy—-I hope he closes out his fine career well on a good Angels team.

Five organizations in one year—-yikes—–brings back memories of Harry the suitcase Simpson.
