Chris Rock catches a foul ball at Yankee Stadium, gives it to a kid

Aug 21, 2014, 2:54 PM EST

That’s kind of the whole story, but there’s nothing else going on right now. After watching this, go read this story at GQ about the hermit guy from Maine. It’ll be the coolest thing you read today.

Nothing else going on right now? David Price is facing his former team. Phil Hughes is out-dueling Corey Kluber in Minneapolis.

There is a lot of excellent baseball going on right now!

Yankees game clocked in at 2:07. The Brandon McCarthy renaissance continues.

I was about to say, Brandon McCarthy was going on – four-hit shutout with eight Ks and zero walks. Beast.

Credit to the Yankees in helping him find his groove. (Hard not to be impressed with how many back end starters have been surprisingly good. Someone is doing something right.)

Demerits to the D-Backs for wasting him?

There’s definitely something going on there. I can’t remember if it was Grantland or Fangraphs, but somebody dug into how pitchers tend to suck more while pitching for Arizona than they do before and after (and no, this isn’t just a park effect).

Except for Ian Kennedy when he was traded to Arizona from the Yankees.

Any idea of that’s the fastest game in MLB this season?

for some some reason I initally read the headline as Kid Rock catches a ball…Big difference

    • bolweevils2 - Aug 21, 2014 at 3:56 PM

I thought it should be “Chris Rock catches foul ball, gives it to Kid Rock”.

    Pretty cool of him.

How about another story about the Clowns in Chicago?

  6. tmarlin1221 - Aug 21, 2014 at 3:49 PM

what was the color of the kid ?

  7. ctony1216 - Aug 21, 2014 at 4:22 PM

Well, he didn’t actually “catch” it. He sort of picked up off his seat, but that’s OK. He gave it to a kid nearby.

The guy on Chris Rock’s right, in the Yankees hat, is Bobby Cannavale, who plays Gyp Rosetti in Boardwark Empire.

darn, just beat me to it…

was gonna say a correction was needed to the title of the article.

“Chris Rock picks up a foul ball and gives it to a kid”
