There will be openings in the following cities: Minnesota, Philadelphia and Arizona. Darkhorse opening: Los Angeles Dodgers if they collapse like they normally do.

I’m a Phillies fan and much as it pains me to say this, I think Sandberg’s a goner. Kinda of a step above Bo Porter, without the friction with his GM, but lacking in game day management and maybe clubhouse management, too. Think it’s a shame, because of his excellent career on the field, but it just ay be that he wasn’t quite ready for the bigtime. Maybe a second opportunity would be good for him, not unlike Terry Francona (who started with the Phillies as a manager, too).

Now it would be appropriate for Amaro, the GM, to go, too.

I gotta think Gardenhire’s probably gone, too, and there have long been rumours about the Padres making a chan ge managerially, too.

I live in north Texas now, and while he was extended into next year, it wouldn’t surprise me to see Ron Washington gone from Texas (and wind up in Houston, for that matter)…

Gardenhire just got an extension last offseason by the same GM so he’s staying. Nobody looks to be in immediate trouble of first look, maybe Gibbons if Toronto continues to tank. Maybe fredi Gonzales, Bud black with a new GM now. Robin Ventura. But all of them either have new contracts/ votes of confidence, have had a good second half or have done good not too long ago to merit the boot
