Dustin Pedroia hasn’t played since suffering a concussion Saturday when he took a forearm to the head and Sean McAdam of CSNNE.com reports there’s “no sign that he will see action before the Red Sox return home at the end of the week.”

Pedroia is still dealing with post-concussion symptoms, including sleep problems, and “didn’t feel quite right” when he tried to increase his activity level Tuesday, suggesting he could be bound for the seven-day concussion disabled list.

Brock Holt has been filling in at second base. Prior to the brain injury Pedroia was having arguably the worst season of his career, hitting a career-low .280 with seven homers and a career-low .720 OPS in 131 games at age 31.

Kindly remember that the language is called “English”. The proper spelling according to English dictionaries is “favourite”.

Shut him down. The season is over for the team, and brain injuries are no joke. Not worth messing around with. After watching what happened to Brian Roberts, and other people in my personal life, it’s just not worth it. It’s a long road back, take your time.

It’s too bad. Pedroia might have been heating up a bit before the injury, hitting two of his seven homers this season during the week before he was injured.

All the Red Sox have left is to torment teams like the Yanks who have to win just about every game. Shut him down, let’s see who has what it takes for 2015.
