Catcher/first baseman/outfielder Stephen Vogt has been one of the most pleasant surprises for the A’s this season, hitting .301 with an .811 OPS in 73 games, but he may end missing a big chunk of September with an ankle injury.

Vogt rolled his left ankle sliding into second base trying to break up a double play Wednesday night and it was bad enough that he may require an MRI exam.

He also has a sore right foot, so Vogt joked to Joe Stiglich of CSNBayArea.com: “No more limp. I’ll be evened out.”

Watch him try to play through it. Vogt is so old-school. That’s one reason why fans love him. Plus, he gets really dirty when he plays, like he’s a dirt magnet. Fabulous.
