i have honestly been surprised that for so long they had been consistently 10 to 15 games above .500

i began to think it was their year…

but alas they they only led to the 3/4 quarter pole and now they’re fading…

oh well, I’m a Cubs fan anyway… would have been nice to not have the Cards win the division though.

2001 Cardinals – 93 wins, tied for league lead in wins, lost NLDS

2002 Cardinals – 97 wins, lost NLCS

2004 Cardinals – 105 wins, lost WS

2005 Cardinals – 100 wins, lost NLCS

2013 Cardinals – 97 wins, lost WS

2006 Cardinals – 83 Wins, WS Champions

2011 Cardinals – 90 Wins, got into postseason by skin of their teeth. WS Champions

The playoffs can be a crapshoot. Arguably the two worst Cardinals teams to make the postseason since 2000 are the two who won titles.

Sure hope they prove me wrong, but it just doesn’t feel the same.
