  1. Five years ago today: Stephen Strasburg’s major league debut

    With Astros prospect shortstop Carlos Correa about to make his major league tonight against the White Sox, it’s only fitting that we mention that Stephen Strasburg’s major league debut was five years ago today. And what a debut it was.

    Tonya Carpenter, the fan who was hit by a piece of a broken bat at Fenway Park on Friday, has been upgraded from serious to fair condition.

    Strasburg landed on the disabled list last weekend due to a left trapezius strain, but he’s already back on the mound.

    Devin Mesoraco hasn’t been able to catch since April 12 due to a left hip impingement and will eventually require surgery, but he hasn’t given up on a return this season.
