Some unfortunate news here for the White Sox. According to CSNChicago.com’s Dan Hayes, closer Matt Lindstrom will undergo surgery on Friday to repair a tear of the sheath in his left ankle and is going to miss at least three months.

White Sox ace Chris Sale has been cleared to come off the disabled list after missing the past month with a sore left flexor muscle. Dan Hayes of CSNChicago.com reports that Sale will start tomorrow night against the Yankees.

On HBT Daily yesterday I said Johnny Cueto would give up more than two runs in a game before Masahiro Tanaka got his first loss. Both happened yesterday, but I’m pretty sure the Nats got their third run off Cueto before the Yankees-Cubs game ended, so I’m gonna claim victory.

White Sox ace Chris Sale struck out 11 batters over four scoreless innings in a rehab start Friday night at Triple-A Charlotte and then threw a 20-pitch bullpen session on Tuesday afternoon. If he wakes up Wednesday with no abnormal soreness, the lefty could be activated from the disabled list during this weekend’s four-game series against the Yankees.
