O’Flaherty underwent Tommy John elbow surgery in July and likely won’t be game-ready before midseason, so it’s definitely a risky move. However, before blowing out his elbow he was an…

It doesn’t come as a big surprise, as he was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his…

    Joe Beimel

The Braves just received some bad news on reliever Eric O’Flaherty, as the lefty was diagnosed with a torn ulnar collateral ligament in his left elbow. Losing O’Flaherty means the Braves have just one left-hander in the bullpen in Luis Avilan. As a result, the Braves signed Joe Beimel to a minor league contract per Tim…

Via David O’Brien: The Braves are cautiously optimistic about their lefty setup man, but didn’t want to speculate much about…

    Jan 18, 2013, 11:03 AM EDT

    O'Flaherty_Eric

The Braves, as mentioned earlier, are a file-and-trial team, so it’s significant that they and setup man  Eric O’Flaherty have reached a one-year deal to avoid arbitration. No word on the dollars yet, but he made just under $2.5 million last season. As Mark Bowman reports, the Braves still have Martin Prado, Jason Heyward, Kris Medlen, Jonny Venters…

  20. If not for Bud, Braves would be World Series favorites

    Sep 21, 2012, 12:05 AM EDT

    Craig Kimbrel

Who’s with me? The Nationals’ four projected starters are a combined 1-1 with a 4.91 ERA in the postseason, with that entire track record belonging to Edwin Jackson. They have one hitter in their lineup with a .350 OBP. They don’t have any big holes in their lineup, but they also don’t have anyone with…

  21. Fernando Rodney is in very rare territory

    Aug 1, 2012, 7:00 PM EDT

The Rays have had the magic touch with lightly regarded relievers before, but Fernando Rodney is easily their biggest success story yet. The Yankees had plenty of chances, especially early on against Tim Hudson, but went just 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position. They also…

I suppose we’ll let Cholly run the team from here on out. Marlins 4, Astros 0: Carlos Zambrano with the three-hit shutout pushes his ERA…
