Patrick Saunders, lead beat writer at the Denver Post, reports that the Rockies placed catcher Wilin Rosario on the 15-day disabled list Sunday morning because of a viral infection. Rosario has also been battling some left hand soreness, so that probably played a factor in the decision to shelve him.

The rotation will include Jorge De La…

It’s the catcher market that has moved the most quickly in free agency this winter, with Brian McCann becoming the first elite free agent to come to terms, agreeing to a five-year, $85 million deal with the Yankees on Saturday. Troy Renck of the Denver Post reports that the Rockies will pursue free agent catcher Carlos Ruiz. My guess is that this begins the Wilin Rosario: first baseman experiment in earnest.
