Nationals right-hander Jordan Zimmermann has been scratched from today’s start against the Mets with what the team is calling flu-like symptoms.

Tanner Roark, who was scheduled to start tomorrow, will instead take Zimmermann’s spot today. And according to Mark Zuckerman of it’s possible that Zimmermann would take the mound tomorrow versus the Braves if he feels better.

I wonder if these flu-like symptoms are like the ones that Mickey Mantle used to have.

Why hasn’t the NatsLady commented on this?

      Here ya go.
      Who is Tanner Roark?

Did you just conflate Atlas Shrugged and The Fountainhead?

      • NatsLady - Apr 3, 2014 at 1:20 PM

@someguyinva: never read either one, but apparently you can get them as a boxed set. :)

If I had to take a guess? I’d say it’s the stomach virus that’s been hitting the MD/DC/VA region hard right now. And unfortunately it can last anywhere from 1-4 days. Total crap shoot. (rimshot)

Hmmmm, interesting. I wonder if he’s “sick” because they’d rather have the Braves go up against JZim and Strasburg, with Roark taking care of the poor, poor Mets… Oh Matty Williams, you sneaky sneak, you.

Could be. Wonder if Zuckerman actually witnessed this or took Williams’ word for it.

he has a fever, was up all night vomiting and is receiving fluids now to combat dehydration
